Meet Doyle
Doyle Heffley was elected to represent the 122nd District in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2010. As a lifelong resident of Carbon County and a 1989 graduate of Lehighton Area High School, Doyle understands the concerns and priorities of the residents of the 122nd District.
From 1996-2010, Doyle worked in the trucking industry where his work ethic and dedication propelled him to a management position overseeing more than 100 employees. Prior to his election to the State House, he served as an industry consultant, using his knowledge and experience to help companies operate more efficiently.
In addition to attending Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Trachsville, Doyle is also an active member of the community. He is a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post No. 314, F.& A.M. Lodge No. 621, and the Indian Mt. Rod and Gun Club. He is a former member of the Lower Towamensing Planning Commission and has served as both committeeman and chairman of the Carbon County Republican Committee.
Doyle currently serves as Chairman of the Human Services Committee for the House Republican Caucus and as Chairman of the East Central Caucus, leading on issues important to families and communities across the region.
As an Eagle Scout, he has been instilled with a deep sense of patriotism for state and country. He is an outdoorsman and a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights.
Doyle is the son of Larry and Roberta Heffley of Lehighton. He resides in Palmerton with his wife, Kellie, and their two daughters, Elizabeth and Angela.

Issues
Property Tax Relief
Doyle voted for House Bill 76 to eliminate school property taxes and authored legislation directing casino table game revenue toward property tax relief. He also supported legislation to eliminate the Gross Receipts Tax on residential properties, establish a state-level Earned Income Tax Credit, and provide a Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday. Doyle supported HB 2224, which included Gross Receipts Tax elimination language, and authored HB 871, which would provide every Pennsylvanian with a $1,000 rebate.
Job Creation
Passed job creation bills and has worked tirelessly to ensure our area is creating family-sustaining jobs. Doyle understands that small businesses are the backbone of Pennsylvania's economy and has worked to diversify the job market by expanding the state's use of alternative energy sources. He will continue to make job creation in Pennsylvania a top priority.
Veterans
Doyle has championed legislation to ensure veterans can put their military training and experience to work in Pennsylvania. He sponsored and co-sponsored legislation requiring the Commonwealth to recognize military education and training toward professional licensing and certification, including measures helping veterans transition into civilian careers. He also supported legislation providing special recognition and benefits for Purple Heart and combat-wounded veterans, including specialized license plates. Doyle’s is committed to honoring veterans and removing unnecessary barriers as they transition from military service to civilian life.
Education
Doyle Heffley is committed to expanding educational opportunities and giving parents the freedom to choose the best education for their children. He voted to expand the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, helping more students access scholarships and alternative educational opportunities. He supported Education Options Tax Credits to further expand school choice and increase opportunities for Pennsylvania families. He voted for record level funding for all schools in Carbon County.
Data Center Oversight
Doyle voted for legislation creating a pause in the zoning consideration of data center proposals, giving municipalities additional time to review their impact on communities and infrastructure. He is also sponsoring legislation that would allow municipalities to impose an 18-month moratorium on new high-impact data center applications, ensuring local officials have the time and authority to determine whether proposed projects are appropriate for their communities.
Police & First Responders
Doyle Heffley has championed legislation supporting Pennsylvania’s police, firefighters, and EMS personnel. He sponsored legislation increasing penalties for the unlawful delivery of fentanyl, helping protect police officers and other first responders from dangerous exposure. He co-sponsored legislation providing incentives for volunteer firefighters and EMS personnel and legislation strengthening support for emergency responders. He also voted for legislation strengthening police K-9 training standards for fentanyl detection and supported funding for the Pennsylvania State Police.
